Ok, I received my new Photoshop Elements, version 7 yesterday. I am so excited, but haven’t had a chance to check out the new features yet. So glad it’s Friday – maybe I can play with it tomorrow! I did notice a new Action Player in the Guided Edit section. And one of the actions to play was Lose Weight – either 2% or 4%. Hmmm. I’ll definitely be playing with that one! Not that I need it, of course. . . . (yeah, right.)
I did figure out how to transfer all my actions into PSE 7. Instructions are here.
Installing Actions When Upgrading to Photoshop Elements 7
Note that, if you’ve upgraded from a prior version to PSE 7, you don’t have to re-download. You can copy your action files into the proper PSE 7 folder. You will have to rename a file for each action, and possibly save a file as a different file type. Other than that, it should be a pretty easy change.
Are these instructions easy to follow? Did I leave anything out? Did you encounter any issues that I didn’t cover? I can update them if I need to. And I will try to help you with any questions! Have fun with your actions and new Photoshop Elements 7! Yayyy!
can these actions be downloaded to pse 15
Hi Rose. It depends on the actions. Which actions are you talking about?
Im hoping you can help. I have an older version of elements, 12. I recently purchased a new macbook and I just moved all of my actions to the new mac. The problem is, my most favorite actions (and most expensive I might add) cannot be found in any files or downloads. I keep all of my actions in a folder specifically for that. I’m not sure if I somehow deleted it in the past without realizing but I cannot find it anywhere. Is there any possible way for me to save this without having to repurchase? I can’t seem to find an option for saving it while in elements app. Its still in the app, I use it for every session. I just can’t seem to find an option to save. 🙁
I’d like to help, but I don’t understand. You say that you moved all of your actions to the new computer. Where did you move them to? If you are saying that you can’t find your favorites on your old computer, you can repeat the navigation path for the installation process. Navigate to the place where PSE reads the actions from and copy them from there. Does that help?
Hi Erin,
I have PS Elements version 10, and also Windows 10. Would you be able to help me so that I can learn how to install actions. I need to know how to install them, and how to go about using them with editing. I can find information where you, and the Coffeeshop Photographer, in your posts have posted tutorials. I need to know how to install them first though. Any help that you can give me would be great.
Thanks a lot!
Kristen
Hi Kristen. The Elements action installation instructions are right here. The instructions for Win 10 are the same as Win 7 & 8.
the actions I bought YESTERDAY from you didnt seem to match? I tried loading to PSE 10? I need help
it sais its not compatible?
Hi Jenala. I don’t sell actions, so you didn’t purchase them from me. Many sites link to mine for instructions about installing actions. I can help you though. Please note that you are on the page for Elements 7. You can find a link to instructions for all versions of Elements on this page. That page also includes a link to troubleshooting info. Please let me know if that helps!
Hello again! I just upgraded to PSE 14 and am trying to figure out how to migrate (Marissa Gifford) actions from my previous PSE (11) to the new one. Problem is, I don’t know where I downloaded/saved the .atn file when I originally purchased the actions. (Could very well be that I deleted it.) From reading through this tutorial, it seems that there’s a way to find the folder within PSE 11… “I did figure out how to transfer all my actions into PSE 7. Instructions are here.” But when I click this link, it takes me to tutorials for installing actions in different versions. Am I misreading? Any tips to migrate actions from one version to the other? Any tips or tricks are MUCH appreciated. Thank you!
You install the actions in the folder that the installation instructions take you to. So, if you read the instructions, you’ll find the folder where you installed the actions.
The link is not working again. 🙁
Well, that’s frustrating! 🙂 Try one more time. Thank you!
The link for the instructions does not work.
Joanne, thank you for letting me know. I fixed the link!
How to install this program to Element 8 ?
Which program, Robin? Are you talking about actions in general?
